The importance of rhetoric in the didactic discourse

Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to remind, especially to those who teach foreign languages, the importance of rhetoric in their didactic discourse having in mind the particular context of modern teaching and the Bologna process. Rhetoric is more than beauty of expression and a way of convincing somebody of something, it is collaborative persuasion and the only way that the teacher can obtain the adhesion of his/her students is by using words.
