Summary/Abstract: The Czech Dialects Dictionary, developed by the Department of Dialectology of the Czech Language Institute (Czech Academy of Sciences), has been published online incrementally since 2016. This lexicographic project documents Czech territorial dialects from the late 19th century to the present. The project is long-term, with over 13,000 entries (A–D) published to date. The processed vocabulary also includes carpathianisms – lexical elements introduced by Carpathian pastoral colonization. These terms reflect linguistic and cultural influences from the Carpathian region and are analyzed for their origins, phonetic adaptation, and semantic development. The paper outlines methods of identifying carpathianisms using dialect dictionaries, archival material, and ethnographic sources, yielding over 400 documented terms. The study emphasizes the significance of carpathianisms in the selected regional dialects and in the Czech Dialects Dictionary. Sample entries are provided, with further details available in the online dictionary.
