Summary/Abstract: This article explores the literary works of Sandro Kasyanyuk, a Ukrainian science fiction writer from the 1920s. The paper examines how Kasyanyuk’s works depict Soviet techno-communism. The stories of Kasyanyuk show a strong belief in the ability of technology to change the world, sometimes ignoring the social and political effects. By exploring characters and themes, such as sexual dimension of machines, Kasyanyuk shows the optimism of the time about technology. The stories provide important insight into the Soviet beliefs in early 20th-century Ukraine.
