Summary/Abstract: The technologization of the act of journalistic creation and the operational practices of media communication has modified, from a conceptual, but especially functional perspective, contemporary communication processes reconfigured the intramedia relational framework, generating new contexts of action and new forms of media manifestation. In order to be competitive and maintain their influence on the information market, traditional media elements (print, audiovisual media, news agencies) capitalized on the opportunities offered by the online space, a fact that generated significant transfigurations in all segments of the mass media system. Thus, media communication and the information circuit have obtained new possibilities of manifestation, related to the increase in the speed of production and transmission of public information, the expansion of the distribution channels of journalistic products, the insertion of multimedia contents in the online versions of traditional periodicals, the interactivity of the finished product etc. The metamorphoses generated by the integration of modern information technologies in journalistic and communication production, expanded very quickly and, in a short time, caught the contours of new trends or even new media phenomena. The “face change” of contemporary media communication processes has generated significant fluctuations in the teaching of journalism and communication, determining both the modification of the optics of university training and the reformation of the concept of higher education in this field.
