Summary/Abstract: The expression of emotions linguistically is an up-to-date topic very frequently researched in linguistic papers nowadays. This is conditioned by the interest of scientists to observe the way emotions are expressed in literary works so as they reach the readers’ reaction and vice versa in producing new texts of any type so as to be aware of the existing means of expressing emotivity. Moreover, the lexical stylistic means which are employed to render emotive meaning found in literary works of a certain language show the contextual meaning of these words, the concrete meaning they acquire in the context and the impact they have on the reader, which illustrates the pragmatic effect. As the text is the source of emotive linguistic means as it renders about the life of people who participate in the story, we also put into discussion the notion of the emotive text and the emotive background. As material for investigation, we have chosen the novel “Wonder” by J.R. Palacio. This piece of fiction is analyzed from the perspective of the emotive means usage and the types of interactions between characters in micro-emotional situations expressed in several patterns.
