Summary/Abstract: Movement in besieged Sarajevo was completely changed compared to the pre-war life of the city. The area of Zmaja od Bosne Street - from the History Museum of BiH, next to the National Museum of BiH, to the Parliament building - was particularly risky, because the intersections along the wide road were monitored from the skyscrapers on Grbavica, on the other side of the Miljacka River, which formed the front line. That part of the city had become a sniper’s alley. Attacks on civilians occurred almost continuously during the siege, even during periods of official ceasefires. This article, through testimonies at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), photos and documents, reconstructs certain incidents that took place in sniper alley in the period from 1992 to 1995.
