Summary/Abstract: The text is a result of combining one’s own experience from an experimental thought performance in the duration of 77 hours within the 77 Million Paintings installation, with an analysis of its basic material elements in the context of conceptual influences from the history of art and philosophy of the 20th century. Taking into account not only the primary literature, but also Brian Eno’s interviews and lectures on topics and challenges of generative art - the text attempts to combine an internal, artistic vision with artistic theory. In this regard, one of the main sources becomes my own unpublished “Performance Diary: 77”, in which the basic conceptual direction of the analysis of this work is set. An experimental approach to this performance and text required the reconciliation of practice and theory; testing theory to the edges of its possibilities in practice, in order to erase the unnecessary boundaries between these two fields. In the same way, the text also erases the boundaries between the academic approach to writing and the all-embracing artistic experience that does not have its source in literature, but within its own perception during the performance.
