Summary/Abstract: Biometric identification has become an essential component of modern forensic science, providing investigators with scientifically validated methods for establishing individual identity. This study examines the main biometric modalities, fingerprint, iris, voice and facial recognition, highlighting their forensic value, scientific foundations and practical applications. Fingerprint analysis remains the most established and legally recognized method, offering a high degree of individuality and permanence. Iris recognition provides exceptional accuracy due to the complexity and stability of iris patterns, while facial and voice recognition technologies, supported by artificial intelligence, extend identification capabilities into digital environments. The paper emphasizes the methodological rigor required in the collection, processing and interpretation of biometric data, as well as the ethical and legal responsibilities associated with their use. Biometric systems represent not only a technological advancement but also a challenge for forensic experts to balance innovation with respect for human rights and privacy.
