Summary/Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the stages of development and manifestations of victim syndrome, focusing on synthesizing data on the emergence and manifestation of victim syndrome. The article offers a multifaceted analysis of the escalating development of victim syndrome, examining its variations, causes, and modes of manifestation. Thus, the article combines psychological and victimological approaches to studying the victim phenomenon for a critical and comprehensive assessment of the problematic of victim syndrome. The article also offers an expanded classification of the manifestations of victim syndrome, including an analysis of atypical cases of it. The article provides recommendations for the Republic of Moldova in the context of prioritizing protection and assistance to victims.
