GYPSY STUDIES. Issue 1960-02

Summary/Abstract: A leaflet inserted in the latest issue of "Etudes Tsiganes" (Gypsy Studies) reported on the Congress of Gypsy Studies, held on May 5 and 6 in Paris. The sessions were chaired by Mr. Meile, professor at the School of Oriental Languages and president of "Etudes Tsiganes," assisted by Mr. Join-Lambert, State Councillor and vice-president of "Etudes Tsiganes." The congress marked a new stage in the ongoing reflection by those involved in "Etudes Tsiganes" who are concerned with Gypsy issues. It was inevitably led to extend beyond the scope of Gypsy problems and to consider issues common to Gypsies and to categories of people leading lives similar to those of some Gypsies.
