Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to examine whether sociodemographic variables and religiosity function as determinants of the psychosocial consequences of gambling and attitudes toward gambling among youth. Religiosity was operationalized using three subscales: (1) Acceptance and internalization of the fundamental tenets of Islamic faith, (2) Performance of salat (ritual prayer) as a means of developing a close connection with God, and (3) Interpersonal relations conducted in accordance with Islamic ethical principles. The research employed theoretical analysis and a descriptive-analytical survey method, using a questionnaire-based data collection technique. The instruments applied in the study were: a Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Religiosity Scale for Muslim Respondents (Isić, Pehlić & Neimarlija, 2014), the Gambling Activity Questionnaire (Dodig, Ricijaš & Rajić-Stojanović, 2014), and the Canadian Adolescent Gambling Questionnaire (Tremblay et al., 2010). The sample consisted of secondary school and university students (N = 694), selected using non-probability convenience sampling. The results confirmed that sociodemographic variables and religiosity are significant determinants of the psychosocial consequences of gambling among youth. Gender emerged as a significant predictor, with female respondents reporting lower levels of psychological consequences of gambling. Furthermore, both women and individuals who regularly perform salat were found to be more protected from negative interpersonal and financial consequences associated with gambling.
