Summary/Abstract: The poetic expression of Njegoš’s authentic mystical experience is characterized by multi-layered meaning and concisness of thought. Mystics and poetry of Njegoš defy clarifications and notions. They are oriented towards transfer of experience and spiritual discoveries, utilizing the deepest symbolisms and terms of apophathic theology. Pneumatological symbolism of the sacramental purple, the most mystic symbol of supreme rule of God, has its foundation in iconography and writen tradition of Eastern Orthodox spirituality.
