Summary/Abstract: The text is part of the author's doctoral thesis, an autoethnography, Teachers' Room: A community of teachers in the real and virtual world. It addresses the issue of explaining the definitions of the concepts of door and threshold and is an attempt to determine the designation of the boundary of space. There is reference to rituals and rites of passage (fr. rites de passage) as conceptualised by Arnold Van Gennep. The door is analyzed – as a barrier or invitation – to a closed space intended exclusively for teachers. Based on the entries from the researcher's journal, photographs and sketches, the article looks "through the keyhole" into the interior of the teachers' room, where we notice the structure of school organization.
