Summary/Abstract: In the field of judicial cooperation in criminal matters, namely with regard to the extradition procedure of a Romanian citizen – an extraditable person – at the request of the United States of America, Law No. 302/2004 on international judicial cooperation in criminal matters (hereinafter referred to as Law No. 302/2004) becomes a general rule, given the conclusion of the Extradition Treaty between Romania and the United States of America of September 10, 2007, ratified by Law No. 111/2008 (hereinafter referred to as the Treaty) – which thus became a special rule in this area.
