Summary/Abstract: Advances in digital technology and artificial intelligence have brought about a major change in the media structure compared to the past and have reshaped the practices of the journalism profession. Practices such as automated data generation, algorithmic editing, and information-centered news production have necessitated a reassessment of scientific studies and professional developments in journalism. The purpose of this study is to examine developments in the academic field and trends in the literature regarding artificial intelligence and news in journalism using bibliometric analysis methods. Within the scope of this study, research focusing on artificial intelligence and news connections in journalism found in the Web of Science (WOS) database has been analyzed. In the study, the R programming language and RStudio environment were used to analyze bibliometric data and visualize the results. Key indicators such as author and country distributions, publication output, keyword frequency, performance of academic journals, and conceptual connection patterns were interpreted. The data shows that there has been a significant increase in publications in the literature in recent years, that collaboration in the academic field has increased internationally, and that concepts such as artificial intelligence, automated news generation, algorithmic and data journalism, etc., have begun to gain importance in the field. In addition, studies reveal that the field has become a medium for joint publications by different disciplines and that theoretical discussions have been enriched by practice-oriented research. The research results systematically visualize the scientific literature on the relationship between artificial intelligence and journalism, providing a general assessment of the current state of the literature and thereby establishing a methodological and theoretical foundation for studies related to these topics. In this context, the study makes a unique contribution to the field by making the academic process of AI-focused journalism research visible and reflecting the conceptual change in the literature from a bibliometric perspective.
