TAX and BUDGET DEFICIT: AN ANALYSIS OF THE INTERNATIONAL LITERATURE WITH VOSVIEWER

Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes academic publications indexed in the Web of Science database using the keywords "budget deficit" and "tax" through a bibliometric method employing the VOSviewer software. The analysis visualizes citation relationships, co-authorship networks, and thematic concentrations at the levels of authors, institutions, countries, and keywords. The findings indicate that the literature is largely concentrated around U.S.-based institutions and macroeconomic themes, while interdisciplinary contributions and sociopolitical dimensions remain limited. Moreover, studies conducted in the context of developing countries are found to be insufficient. By identifying existing gaps and areas of knowledge concentration in the literature, this study aims to offer potential research avenues for scholars and contribute to evidence-based decision-making processes for policymakers. In this regard, the study reveals the role of bibliometric analysis in mapping academic knowledge within the literature.
