Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the tension between the concept of rationality at the core of modern management thought and ethical and moral responsibility from the perspective of management philosophy. Throughout the twentieth century, instrumental reason dominated the field of management, placing efficiency, effectiveness, and measurability at the center. However, this approach has been increasingly criticized for relegating human beings, values, and social responsibility to a secondary position. In this context, the study addresses as its central problem the points at which rational decision-making models generate moral dilemmas in managerial practice and how this situation necessitates a transformation in management philosophy. Adopting a conceptual and theoretical methodology, the study analyzes the theoretical trajectory from classical management approaches to behavioral, critical, and contemporary thought within a philosophical framework. The findings indicate that the absolutization of rational reason weakens ethical sensitivity and often leads to the neglect of the moral consequences of managerial decisions.
