Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to characterise and assess the implementation and development of electric urban transport serving polish towns with populations between 10,000 and 25,000. of 98 polish towns in this size range, fewer than 20%, i.e. 20 towns operate electric buses, with the total number of 62 vehicles. Between 2020 and 2024, small towns were characterised by the fastest growth in the share of electric buses in their fleets, moving from the group with the lowest to that with the highest share of such vehicles in their fleet structure. "electromobile" small towns are located mostly in south-western and central poland and, interestingly, they do not belong to any metropolitan areas. What is even more interesting, in the case of seven towns the decision to introduce electric buses was taken in connection with the opening of the first municipal transport lines. Hence, it would seem that the electromobile innovation can have a positive influence on promoting public transport in small towns. on the other hand, higher operating costs associated with the functioning of very small innovative transport systems may involve serious risks in the future.
