ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND TRAFFICKING OF MINORS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE LEGISLATIVE AMENDMENTS INTRODUCED BY LAW NO. 269/2024

Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyze the impact of some of the legislative amendments introduced by Law no. 269/2024 on the reconfiguration of the content of the crimes of human trafficking and trafficking of minors. The study starts by analyzing the need for legislative change in the matter of criminalizing human trafficking, trafficking of minors and pimping that triggered the existence of the amendments introduced through Law no. 269/2024. Then it continues by analyzing aspects related to ensuring legislative coherence in the matter of criminalizing the acts of human trafficking and trafficking of minors and also by analyzing the possible influence of these amendments on the judicial practice. All of these aspects are being analyzed one by one and the general conclusion is that there is room for improvement, in this regard being formulated de lege ferenda proposals.
