Summary/Abstract: The vast majority of people who migrate to other countries do so for reasons related to work, family, or studies, in migration processes that, for the most part, do not pose major problems for either the migrants or the receiving countries. Migration mostly takes place in a safe, orderly, and regular manner. However, some people leave their homes and countries for a number of compelling and sometimes tragic reasons, such as conflict, persecution, or disasters. Although these people forced to move, such as refugees and internally displaced persons, represent a relatively small percentage of all migrants, they are often the ones who need the most assistance and support.
