Summary/Abstract: The present analysis examines the legal status of the graves of voivodes and komiti located within the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia. The issue is considered from the perspective of international humanitarian law and international cultural heritage law. The main objective is to analyze whether, and to what extent, such graves may be classified as military within the meaning of the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols.
