Summary/Abstract: The article, entitled ‘The Diakonia of the Neighbor – Ecclesiological Reflections’, posits that diakonia constitutes an indispensable aspect of the Church’s identity and mission, encompassing both its theological import and the practical manifestations of Christian service. In light of Christ’s example of sacrificial love, the concept of diakonia is not merely an individual obligation but a collective and sacramental calling through which the Church actively demonstrates God’s love. This study contrasts traditional interpretations of diakonia with contemporary perspectives, emphasizing its role as a collective ecclesial act. This vision is centered on the Eucharist, which serves as the foundation of diakonia, extending the liturgical experience into everyday life in what is known as the ‘liturgy after the Liturgy’. Consequently, the Church is called to embody divine compassion by addressing social needs, seeking justice, and creating authentic community. In embracing this model, the Church is empowered to transform both individual lives and society, making diakonia a visible sign of God’s enduring love and presence in the world.
