Summary/Abstract: This article aims to analyze the service of consecration of the church from an Orthodox theological and liturgical perspective, highlighting the meanings of this hierarchy in the biblical tradition and the teaching of the Orthodox Church. Through a detailed analysis of the prayers and liturgical texts, the work emphasizes two fundamental aspects: the divine-human unity of the Church and the soteriological significance of consecration. Thus, the service is not just a ritual of consecration of a physical space, but a profound act of communion between believers and God, reflecting the salvation brought through the Church. The work approaches this ritual through the prism of Holy Scripture, from the perspective of both the New and the Old Testament, demonstrating how biblical teachings are reflected in the liturgical act. In particular, the close connection between Christ and His Church is emphasized, the Church being founded on biblical truths and apostolic tradition. Thus, the service of consecration of the church becomes an expression of the continuous presence of Christ in the midst of the community. The catholicity and apostolicity of the Church are also analyzed, emphasizing that this service reaffirms the identity of the Church as the Body of Christ and the union of believers in a sacramental communion. Furthermore, the sacramental character of sanctification is highlighted, the role of the liturgy as a means of communion between believers and God, thus transforming the act of consecration into a deepening of the spiritual relationship between man and divinity. The sanctification of the church is seen in the Orthodox tradition not only as a liturgical act, but as a continuation of the mysteries of salvation, the Church being the place where believers meet Christ. Thus, the service is not a simple formality, but an opening towards the salvation brought by God, reaffirming the role of the Church as “the pillar and ground of the truth” (I Timothy 3:15). The work emphasizes the importance of this service as a meeting point between heaven and earth, between divinity and humanity, being essential not only for the consecration of a sacred space, but also for strengthening the spiritual bond between God and His people.
