Summary/Abstract: Orsolya Marton’s article focuses on a site-specific theatre performance held in Cluj-Napoca. The Desiré Foundation’s bilingual project (in Romanian and Hungarian), entitled Commoning, aims to raise public awareness of the Armătura factory in Cluj-Napoca before the city demolishes it in 2026 and builds a residential complex in its place. During the three-hour event, the creators of the performance did not seek to dump information on the audience, but rather to create an empirical experience of the factory: they did this with descriptive, evocative texts and unique music, bringing inanimate objects to life, somewhat idealizing the past, while drawing attention to the fact that city leaders should be aware of the community and historical value of buildings slated for demolition or even renovation.
