Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes the mechanisms by which Łukasz Górnicki enriched his 16th-century Polish tragedy "Troas" (a translation of Seneca's "Troas") with an additional emotional dimension. The translator introduced images and stylistic devices characteristic of hagiographic writing. The analysis also aims to consider the impact of these inspirations on the model emotional reception of the works in question, understood as the audience's response, planned by the author. To demonstrate the elements typical of hagiographic writing, reference is made to medieval hymns to saints, widely known in 16th-century culture, as well as to the contemporary prose work "Troas", Piotr Skarga's "Lives of the Saints of the Old and New Order."
