Summary/Abstract: The present study on Mr. Prof. Univ. Dr. Dumitru Jompan and Mrs. Aurelia Jompan is based not only on their fruitful activities but also on the love and respect they share. Even if the two come from a rural area, from a locality of Banat Montan - Marga commune -, they have become outstanding personalities of this space and time, managing to awaken in Romanians from the border region of Banat the interest in culture and art, opening new paths in the research of Banat’s heritage. They are the authors of numerous works depicting the past and traditions of Caras-Severin County. On the threshold of their ninth decade, after many years of active life, the master composer and his lifelong oracle, the „luminous shadow” - „Mama Lia” - deserve appreciation for their continuous dedication, for the struggle they are waging on the stage of cultural life in Marga, for the sacrifice of leaving behind perennial things such as the treasure-books, for the musical artistic visibility they have given to the world about their beloved locality and about Banat.
