Summary/Abstract: This interview with Albert Veress, director of the Csíki Játékszín Theatre of Miercuria Ciuc, explores the theatre’s temporary mode of operation during the renovations and the consequences thereof. The relocation resulted primarily in logistical and organizational challenges, but it also opened up new opportunities in terms of genres and audience relations. Parallel to the suspension of the season ticket system, the mobile, smaller-scale productions – including documentary theatre performances – played by the company appealed to audiences in the surrounding villages who rarely go to the theatre. The discussion touches on the community challenges faced when operating in multiple locations, as well as on the effort to make this forced transformation a part of the theatre’s operation in the long run.
