Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the question of whether it is possible to find Christological motifs in Tolkien’s Legendarium without an overinterpretation. On the basis of the written statements of J.R.R. Tolkien himself and a wide range of studies and commentaries devoted to his work, the author shows the occurrence in the Legendarium of a large number of references to Catholic Christology through Tolkien’s use of the semantic stylistic device of the symbol and the author’s term eucatastrophe.
