Summary/Abstract: On 4 June 2024 in Zakrzewo, Father Bolesław Domański was decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland by President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. The ceremony took place at the grave of the Rev. Patron with the participation of numerous commune authorities and local people. The Grand Cross is awarded for outstanding merits in service to the State and society, is the highest class of the order and ranks second among the civilian awards of the Republic of Poland. Efforts to honour Fr Patron were undertaken by the Catholic Association “Civitas Christiana”, especially the Local Branch in Pila (Piła), as early as 2009. They were crowned with success thanks to activists of particular distinction (Jacek Stróżyński, Stanisław Pawełek) only in 2024. The Grand Cross was handed over as a deposit to the Polish House in Zakrzewo in December 2024.
