The Hesychast Saints—Models of Prayer for All Christians

Summary/Abstract: Emphasis has always been placed on the work of cleansing passions, combined with the practice of prayer. For this reason, confession and communion were associated with the practice of the Jesus prayer. Starting from the 10th century, the hesychastic practice and incessant prayer grows and is confinued over time by Councils and miracles from God Himself, as seen in the lives of the saints who walked this path, one of them being even the great Gregory Palama.
