Summary/Abstract: In this work is presented and complemented by comments last will of the Serbian writer, educator, translator, historian and ethnologist Milan Đ. Milićević (Ripanj, Danube region, Serbia, June 4th, 1831 – Belgrade, November 4th, 1908). His first wife, Gina, a girl from Niš which was not liberated yet, Milićević married as a teacher in 1852, and spent with her thirty-six years, during which he had two sons, Mita, a physician, and Milić, a judge, and five daughters, Draga and Mileva (Mevica) who died early, and Ana, Ljuba and Ivanka. Ana, the eldest, was wife of the interpreter and publicist Mita Rakić, and mother of Milan Rakić. After Gina’s death, in 1888, Milićević, then 60, married Milica in 1891, who outlived him. He died at 77 and was buried, according to his own desire, in the family tomb, next to his wife, just behind the church, at the New Cemetery in Belgrade. As it can be seen from the text of his last will, the Milićević family was harmonious, and mutual relations were filled with great love, care and understanding. In his last will, Milićević tried to be true to himself and give evenly share his property to his children, wife, and even distant relatives and other family members. He magnanimously forgave the debts of some of them, and remembered in his will even the domestic servants, setting them rewards for faithful service in his home. As a real head of a household, Milićević, before his death, took care to provide cash to settle any possible debts in connection with the house, so they do not fall at the expense of his successors. Will and behest are autograph of Milan Đ. Milićević kept in the Archive SASA, within the family legacy of Milan Grol.
