Summary/Abstract: Based on the researches conducted in the Library of Kolarac People’s University, the Archive of SASA and the Historical Archives of Belgrade this paper is an effort of the author to complete previous historiographical literature on the work of the Kolarac People’s University. The intention is to consider, through a different historical prism, certain educational opportunities, cultural potential, range of artistic interests and intensity of scientific engagement of the Kolarac People’s University in Belgrade during the interwar period. It should be noted that the theme of this work is not the life and work of Ilija Milosavljević Kolarac. The work is focused on activities, development and organization of Kolarac People’s University in the period from 1932 until 1941. During the period of almost nine-years, this higher education institution succeeded to reach and show its full purpose in the variety of experiences, which made it a genuine forum of the University of Belgrade.
