GENERAL ACTIVITY REPORT of the Diocesan Council’s departments for the year 2022

Summary/Abstract: This document presents the 2022 General Activity Report of the Eparchial Council of the Archdiocese of Timișoara. It outlines the administrative, pastoral, cultural, educational, economic, social-philanthropic, and legal activities conducted by the eparchy throughout the year. Despite initial challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic impact of the war in Ukraine, the Archdiocese successfully resumed its full liturgical schedule. Key achievements include extensive social-philanthropic efforts assisting vulnerable populations, hospitals, and Ukrainian refugees, with total investments exceeding 6.5 million lei. Culturally and educationally, the eparchy distributed tens of thousands of prayer books to students, organized religious olympiads, and hosted symposia marking 75 years since the re-establishment of the Metropolitan Church of Banat. Furthermore, numerous church construction and restoration projects were advanced, while the legal department managed property rights and land leases. The report highlights the strong collaboration between clergy, the faithful, NGOs, and local authorities.
