Summary/Abstract: The decade 1929–1939 was not a good period for resolving national question in Yugoslavia. Milan Ćurčin tried to find a solution on the pages of New Europe. In the first decade of Yugoslav state Ćurčin was an integral Yugoslav. He believed in the Yugoslav idea and its future. He believed that Serbs and Croats were one nation, and together with Slovenes members of a greater Yugoslav nation. Ćurčin also believed at that time that Serbs were guilty for national problems in Yugoslavia. In the fourth decade of XX century, however, Milan Ćurčin changed his views of the national question in Yugoslavia. He still believed that Serbs and Croats are one nation, but he did not see equality in Yugoslavia any more. In his opinion, Slovenes were just good Yugoslav citizens, but they did not have any right to interfere with Serb-Croat relations, because Serbs and Croats were the most important nations in Yugoslavia. Milan Ćurčin revealed many evidenced that Serbs and Croats were one nation. It is paradoxical that Ćurćin declined the idea of integral Yugoslav nation, and changed his attitude towards Serb-Croat option, just because of saving Yugoslavia! Day after day he continuously repeated his thesis about unity of Serbs and Croats, in order to prevent bigger problems in really hard times of Yugoslav history. Unfortunately, his idea failed and Serbs and Croats started conflicts with the consequences that can be felt even today.
