Summary/Abstract: A letter by Vasily Alekseevich Panov (1819–1849) to his fellow Slavophile K. S. Aksakov, sent from Novi Sad in March 1843, is a brief account of a trip to the Slavic lands. In addition to the traditional visits to Dalmatian towns and villages with a short stay in Montenegro, which became the template of Slavophile tourism, Panov made a risky visit to Turkish territory (Herzegovina). Moreover, during a cruise along the Danube in February and March 1843, Panov had stayed in Belgrade for 5 days.
