ȚARA LOVIȘTEI. PERSPECTIVĂ SOCIOLINGVISTICĂ
THE LOVIȘTEA REGION. A SOCIOLINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE

Summary/Abstract: This study offers a description of the relevant sociolinguistic aspects identified during the field research conducted in the Romanian region known as „Țara Loviștei”. It is based on questionnaire items and discussions held with the inhabitants of eight major localities in this area. The subjects from the territory were selected based on specific sociolinguistic criteria: age, gender, educational level, profession, or socio-cultural status. The aim of this article is to examine how social hypostases are reflected at the linguistic level, as well as to determine the relationship between innovation and conservatism.
