THE PARADOX OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. EPISTEMOLOGICAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Summary/Abstract: The present reflection tries to outline the essential distinction between knowledge and wisdom, two terms that are frequently perceived as synonyms, which, however, upon a semantic analysis more nuanced, reveals that epistemological and existential dimensions are profoundly different. Knowledge represents the outcome of human experience filtered through the lens of sensorial perceptions, of social interactions, and the accumulation of information over time. Wisdom, by contrast, configures as a synthesis that transcends the simple accumulation of data, it organizes, integrates, and confers sense to knowledge, providing the individual an existential vector, which positions them in the social moral and cultural space.
