Summary/Abstract: Disagreements between Serbia and Hungary on the question of the equality of the nationalities in Hungary reached their culmination during the revolutionary events in 1848 and unfortunately turned into the open war of the two sides, with many victims and considerate material damage, even of the sacral buildings. Both sides many times sought a solution for truce or even a peace treaty, ever since the conflict started in June 1848. The truce negotiations were conducted many times between the different participants from the Serbian and Hungarian sides. They were intensified by the contact between Serbian patriarch Josif Rajačić and Hungarian general in Petrovaradin, Imre Blagojević, in November 1848. This paper presents so far unknown, and maybe even the initial part of these negotiations. Unfortunately, mutual disagreements, as well as the interference of the Viennese Court did not lead the two sides (Serbian and Hungarian) towards the final peace agreement until the end of the Revolution in 1849.
