Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with a new finding of Diocletian’s follis on the slopes of Kopaonik Mountain, not far from Belo Brdo. This follis was minted around 298 in North Africa, on the occasion of the great Maximian’s war against the rebellious Moors. Taking into consideration the testimonies of Diocletian’s personal efforts to revive mining in the Danubian provinces, this finding allows us to assume that Belo Brdo silver and iron mine was active in Diocletian’s time, although direct testimonies of the activity of this mine originate from the late Middle Ages. If this assumption is accepted ‒ supported by a series of other indications ‒ Belo Brdo will be added to the list of Illyrian (Dardanian) active or newly established mines in late antiquity.
