Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the complex relationship between art and contemporary technology, reevaluating the notion of their incompatibility. Drawing on the theories of Adorno, Heidegger, Benjamin, and Williams, it explores the utilitarian aspect of modern technology and its suitability for artistic purposes. Through an analysis of the Jeremiah Project, which integrates an avatar in live performance, the paper investigates how modern technological tools challenge traditional concepts of art and audience interaction. The study suggests that resistance to contemporary technology in art may overlook the transformative potential it brings to aesthetics and creative practice, connecting what has historically been considered a contradictory relationship.
