Summary/Abstract: Marking 100 years since the birth of Slavko Simić, 90 years since the birth, and 10 years since the death of Nikola Simić Abstract: The triple anniversary – a century since the birth of Slavko Simić, 90 years since the birth, and 10 years since the death of Nikola Simić – serves as a formal occasion for the creation of this work, an attempt to reevaluate two rich artistic careers. Slavko and his younger brother Nikola Simić, born ten years apart, were prominent figures in the Yugoslav Drama Theatre, shaping Serbian and Yugoslav theater during the second half of the 20th century and the early 21st century. Both actors left a lasting impression with their distinctive acting styles, not only on the stage of their home theater but also as guest performers on other Belgrade stages and through numerous appearances in film, radio, and television. The elder Slavko was best known for his dramatic and tragic roles, while the younger Nikola excelled in comedic expression. Both were accomplished character actors who successfully brought to life roles from classical and contemporary dramatic literature. Their outstanding achievements earned them numerous awards and recognitions. Drawing from the rich documentation of the Museum of Theater Arts of Serbia and other archives, their life stories have been partially reconstructed. This work articulates their unique acting styles and compiles an exhaustive list of their theatrical roles.
