Summary/Abstract: Throughout the history of Matica Srpska, from the beginning in 1826, the expansion of its activity enlarged the family of Matica Srpska editions, as well as the periodical publications. According to the decision of the Department of Social Sciences and the Chief Board, after the issuing of the volume number 54 from the Journal of Social Sciences, the Journal of History singled out as a separate periodical publication. Until the volume number 28 (1983) the name of the magazine had been Journal of history and then it changed its name into Matica Srpska Journal of History which has remained until the present day. The magazine is edited by the Editorship with the editor-in-chief ahead of it. Up to now, the editors-in-chief have been as follows: academician Slavko Gavrilović (1970–2004), academician Miloš Blagojević (2005– 2012), Professor Vojin Dabić, PhD (2013–2017) and Petar Krestić, PhD (since 2018). The editorship is comprised of domestic and foreign members. Although the data on all bibliographic units in the magazine can also be found in the library-informational system with the mutual cataloging in all important libraries in Serbia, there has emerged a necessity to publish, in one place within the magazine, a list of all the authors and their articles published since from the first to the jubilary – hundredth edition of the magazine in 2019. During the whole 50 years of the publishing, on about 20 000 pages, there have been published 1 872 bibliographic units encompassing articles and treatises, addendums and materials, reviews, criticisms and notes, historiography and metodology, bibliography, necrologues, narrative sources ets.
