Summary/Abstract: We will look at the Archieratikon (Bishop’s Service Book, in Slavic Arhierejski činovnik), used in Serbian churches during the 17th and 18th centuries. The aim is to understand the development of various liturgical objects and utensils, then the influences of mystagogical interpretations from episcopal liturgical books on fresco painting, as well as the influence of the text on certain liturgical acts, and ultimately how a specific liturgical object can influence the text itself.
