Summary/Abstract: Following the onset of the migration crisis as one of the most significant global chal-lenges of the past decade, Serbia became a key transit country and one of the final stops for migrants en route to the European Union. The crisis raised critical questions about migration governance processes, in which the media play a pivotal role. This study ana-lyzes daily newspaper coverage of migrants in Serbia from 2021 to 2024, examining a sample of 1,001 articles published in five selected outlets: Blic, Danas, Informer, Kurir, and Politika. The texts were sourced from the EBART media archive. Findings reveal a gradual shift in media framing—from a predominantly humanitarian perspective to-ward a security-dominated narrative. Problematically, both frameworks objectify mi-grants by portraying them through the lens of “otherness,” exacerbating social distance and hindering inclusive integration into Serbian society.
