Summary/Abstract: The article examines the development and enrichment of the iconographic program of post Byzantine treasury Gospel bindings in the Balkans through a particular visual panorama of selected silverworks. These examples reveal that during the Ottoman period, changes in the design of precious bindings affected the back cover of the Gospel. The process is related to the exchange of positions between scenes from the classical Byzantine decorative scheme, but also to the introduction of compositions uncommon for the decoration of the covers, such as the Annunciation, the Ascension of Christ, the Dormition of the Mother of God, etc.
