Summary/Abstract: The genealogical tree of Achilles holds significant research interest, as each individual within it, is distinct and possesses considerable influence since antiquity. Unfortunately, the dazzling radiance of the demigod hero prevents figures such as his father, for instance, from demonstrating their own legacy. Indeed, in the mind of most individuals, and as evidenced by the limited sources in the context of international literature, Peleus appears to be a figure of secondary importance within Greek mythology. This research paper aims to dismantle this enduring stereotype, grounded in the assertion of Apollonius of Rhodes, which posits that Peleus is not merely an ordinary mortal but rather the finest among all mortals who tread upon the earth. The abundance of heroes who lived in the same generation, along with their psychological and spiritual traits, reinforces the perspective of this particular ancient author. Considering his achievements on physical, mental and spiritual level, the reality appears to be uncharted and significantly different. A comprehensive examination of ancient sources and the interconnection of various aspects reveal, in the most tangible manner, the legacy of Peleus, the attainment of his own literary immortality and the respect that international research owes to the father of the greatest of the Greek heroes.
