Summary/Abstract: The article deals with words used in the dialects of the Gemer region to refer to containers used to store liquids in the traditional Gemer household. The article also points out the motivation behind the names of the containers and the purpose of their use, such as their shape, the capacity of liquids they contain, the material they are made of, or other aspects. Also interesting is the adaptation of some words originating from the Hungarian and German languages into Gemer dialects.
