Summary/Abstract: In 2022, on the initiative of a nationwide group of medievalists, the Centre for Medieval Studies (CSM) was established within the structures of the Catholic University of Lublin under the leadership of Professor Paweł Kras1. On the basis of a five-year grant awarded in early 2023 by the Minister of Science and Higher Education (2023–2027), several research and inventory projects were launched. These include the registration and scholarly study of medieval seals in Polish collections (Corpus sigillorum Poloniae, coordinated by Professor Marcin Hlebionek), the edition of the Teutonic Order’s correspondence preserved in the Geheimes Staatsarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz collection in Berlin-Dahlem (Epistolae Ordinis Teutonici Sanctae Mariae, quae ad res gestas Poloniae spectant, coordinated by Professor Sobiesław Szybkowski), and papal documents concerning Poland from the turn of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries (coordinated by Professor Marek Daniel Kowalski).
