Summary/Abstract: An inventory of the volumes written in Romanian on the history of Hungarian literature, and also of the translations from Hungarian into Romanian, allows me to identify the same problem that I had already noticed during my studies, in the late 90s, early 2000s: there is a significant lack of material that can be accessed by the Romanian students of the universities where Hungarian literature is being taught or, in general, by the Romanian public without any knowledge of the Hungarian language, but interested in the evolution of Hungarian literature in general, not only in the situation of Hungarian literature in Romania. Since these two pillars – literature histories and translations – can be seen as an act of intercultural mediation, a privileged place of contact between different languages and cultures, it can be important to study the dynamics of the publication of works from another culture from both a qualitative and quantitative point of view over a certain period of time.
