Summary/Abstract: Purpose: The main purpose of the article is to initially indicate the role of risk management and the main areas of risk analysis in the energy transformation process as an element of systemic energy management at the enterprise level.Methodology: The basic method is literature studies on energy management, risk management and economic transformation processes, supplemented by unstructured interviews with managers from energy, transport, automotive and chemical industries conducted during advisory activities. Results: Based on literature studies and interviews conducted as part of ongoing research and consulting projects, it can be tentatively indicated that the most important risk areas for businesses in the energy transition process can be identified. These include political, regulatory, financial (financing), operational (technology selection), and research and development risks. Actions in each of these areas determine the proper functioning of the enterprise and the achievement of its goals in the areas of energy, emissions, and support for climate protection policy.Limitations: A significant limitation of the analysis conducted in this article and the conclusions drawn from it is the scope of the study, limited to four industries (transport, energy, chemical industry and automotive sector) and the unstructured nature of the interviews conducted, which makes it difficult to draw common, in-depth conclusions from them.Originality: The issue of risk management in the energy transition process at the enterprise level is crucial for the strategic, operational, and financial security of economic entities. It is currently absent from the literature on management sciences due primarily to the requirement to understand numerous interdisciplinary issues and the high level of complexity. Deepening our understanding of risk in the transition process can facilitate the understanding of energy management decisions in enterprises and can also serve as a starting point for further research. This is particularly true given that energy transition, along with its associated risks, is currently and will continue to be one of the most important challenges for managerial decisions, both at the operational and, above all, strategic levels, representing a promising area for further quantitative and qualitative research.
